Including students and less-experienced players alongside more advanced musicians is a wonderful way of sharing music.
Using arrangements which cater to different levels of ability results in all the performers having a level of challenge that is suitable for them, enabling them to make a meaningful contribution to the whole sound.
The scores and parts for all works are professionally print-set.

BEETHOVEN: Symphony No 7 (finale)
2.2.2.2. / 2.2.0.0. / 1T 0P / Strings (8')
+ Participatory parts for less experienced string players
Commissioned by the London Symphony Orchestra, this arrangement of the finale of Beethoven's Symphony No 7 includes reduced-difficulty parts for the strings tailored towards players around Grade 4.
The parts include no bowings, and are made to correspond with the Breitkopf edition of the original piece.
PURCELL: Dido and Æneas
1(opt).2(opt).0.1(opt). / 0.0.0.0. / 0T 2P(opt) 1Hpsd (dChOrg) / Strings (60')
Mezzo-Soprano, Dido | Soprano, Belinda | Baritone, Æneas | Mezzo-Soprano, Sorceress | Soprano, Second Woman | Mezzo-Soprano, Spirit | Tenor, Sailor | Soprano, Witch 1 | Mezzo, Witch 2 | Chorus SATB
Commissioned for performance by Blackheath Halls Opera 2018. The string parts include a simpler ossia line where appropriate for less experienced players. The parts and scores include professional bowings.
As with any production of Dido and Aeneas, many editorial and performance choices must be made, and many are worked into this material in order to serve and simplify its mixed-ability nature.
Corresponding chorus scores with piano reduction have been created and reworked for SSAB to better suit the distribution of voices in many community choruses. MP3 learning tracks for the chorus are available for this reworked chorus setting. If the original chorus SATB setting is desired, all materials have been created to correspond with the Chester Novello edition of the piece.
RAVEL: Bolero (Flexi-Scoring)
1.1.2.1. / 2.2.1.1. / 1P(or more) / Strings (15')
The core ensemble of more experienced players required for this slightly streamlined arrangement is as listed above. This can be supplemented by any number of less-experienced instrumentalists who play from a 'building-blocks' cue sheet, from which they are encouraged to learn as many component parts of the piece as would be suitable for them.
Full explanatory notes for putting the piece together are provided.
Commissioned by the London Symphony Orchestra.
ROSSINI: William Tell Overture (excerpt)
2(1p).2(1dc).2.2. / 4.2.3.1(opt). / 1T 3P 1H(opt) 1Asax(opt) / Strings (8')
Parts aimed at Grade 4-5 players of Violin, Cello, Flute and Clarinet were created to correspond with the Breitkopf edition of the original piece, beginning at b48 of the overture.
In addition to the original scoring, optional tuba, saxophone and harp parts were added, but need not be used if not available.
Commissioned by the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain
TCHAIKOVSKY: 1812 Festival Overture (excerpt)
3(1p).3(1c).2.2. / 4.4(2c).3.1. / 1T 4P 0H / Strings (8')
Solo Cello
An arrangement which includes parts aimed at players of around Grade 4-5 standard of all instruments, beginning at b224 of the original overture. The reduced-difficulty parts are presented in the parts as ossia staves, alongside the original musical text, and in the score the simplified options are shown as cue-sized notes.
The timpani and percussion parts from the original Breitkopf edition can be used alongside this arrangement, as no simplification was beneficial for the arrangement.
The parts and scores include professional bowings.
Commissioned by the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
