Welcome to smallorch.com, a website specialising in reduced orchestrations that retain the full force of the original works.
Usually for around 25-30 players (but including some smaller and larger orchestrations too), these arrangements are ideally suited to socially-distanced performances and to chamber orchestras.
Works are available to hire or buy, unless otherwise indicated.
The reduced orchestrations are created by Lee Reynolds, whose works have been performed and recorded by orchestras including the LSO, LPO, Nederlandse Reisopera, Baltic Youth Philharmonic, National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk, as well as at Glyndebourne, ENO the Royal Opera House, and by many small orchestras and ensembles across the world.
New reduced orchestrations are being created all the time! If you have a request for a new reduced orchestration, please get in touch.
You will also find pages listing participatory arrangements for orchestras of mixed abilities, along with not-so-small editions; original works which have been edited and print set to meet the highest modern day standards.
